Robots are indeed here, but instead of a dark future sci-fi, we imagine our interactions with a generally quirky, if misguided, Michael Scott in an office in the kingdom of computers. After a few laughs, our conversation took a serious turn: How can we bring this transformative technology into the classroom?

In the ever-evolving digital scenario, a technology consistently headlines and transforms industries: artificial intelligence (AI). A particular branch of AI called generative IA has revolutionized the way we interact with technology and made us rethink the future of education.

A notable example of generative AI is the state of CHATGPT, a generative language model developed by OpenAi. The public launch of ChatGPT after Thanksgiving 2022 shook the world with widespread curiosity and concern. As educators, we should equip our students with an understanding of this innovative technology, not just a conversation.

Preparing students for their futures, which AI and Advanced Technologies will undoubtedly denigrate, requires that they collectively embrace these evolutionary technologies to teach students how to use these tools ethically and effectively.

Generative IA is a subset of AI that focuses on creating something new. Instead of simply analyzing and learning from input data, generative AI can generate new content, often from instructions and user-generated input requests. The output of these models can range from text to images and sound, including music and even realistic human speech. Generative AI operates on machine learning and neural networks, two central concepts in the world of AI.
